Gas sensors are devices that detect the presence and measure the concentration of specific gases in the surrounding environment.

Play a critical role in various industries, ensuring safety, monitoring air quality, and enabling early detection of hazardous gas leaks.

MQ-2 Sensor:

Sensor designed to detect a variety of gases, primarily combustible gases like methane, propane, hydrogen, and smoke

It contains a semiconductor sensing element made of a metal oxide semiconductor material that interacts with the gases being detected

It has a built-in heating element that heats the sensing element to a specific temperature to facilitate gas detection.

When the sensor is powered and it heats the semiconductor material.

As the target gas contacts the sensing element, it undergoes a chemical reaction, changing the conductivity of the semiconductor material.

Interaction between the gas and the sensing element alters its resistance. Different gases cause different changes in resistance, allowing the sensor to detect a variety of gases

Provides both analog and digital output signals.
