Gas sensors are devices that detect the presence and measure the concentration of specific gases in the surrounding environment.

Play a critical role in various industries, ensuring safety, monitoring air quality, and enabling early detection of hazardous gas leaks.

MQ-2 Sensor:

• Sensor designed to detect a variety of gases, primarily combustible gases like methane, propane, hydrogen, and smoke

• It contains a semiconductor sensing element made of a metal oxide semiconductor material that interacts with the gases being detected

• It has a built-in heating element that heats the sensing element to a specific temperature to facilitate gas detection.

• When the sensor is powered and it heats the semiconductor material.

• As the target gas contacts the sensing element, it undergoes a chemical reaction, changing the conductivity of the semiconductor material.

• Interaction between the gas and the sensing element alters its resistance. Different gases cause different changes in resistance, allowing the sensor to detect a variety of gases

• Provides both analog and digital output signals.
